Elisabeth cursed the darkness and cut off the voices of condemnation and shame. The labels of men didn’t stick and she sang in her wilderness. For five months she was in the presence of God…savoring the triumph with Him. Her hiding place with the Almighty had become the pattern of her life. In His presence the taunts of the enemy were silenced. In His presence the law was stripped of its power…in His presence grace empowered. Had she not run here, hopelessness would have resigned her to accept an unfulfilled destiny. She would never have had the strength to conceive.
My dream is to see you rise to your King’s bidding and believe that Calvary’s tree was more than enough for your pardon. I dream of seeing you walk with Him into your destiny, smashing the strongholds of Satan that are crippling our world. Naturally, the enemy will attempt to discourage you. He uses your most vulnerable spots to stop the work. You will observe the accomplishments of others and feel small. Reminders of your shortcomings, your failures, your past…will loom before you. But I have good news for you.
“No one is justified before God by the Law.”
“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
It is a curse to live by the law. You waste time surveying your deeds… your life… forever wondering if you’ve made the mark. Guilt hovers and shame is always available. The law is a whip—but grace empowers you to embrace God’s love for you. Grace empowers you to rest in your Father’s love and grace empowers you to go for the gold.
This topic will be continued next week. There is so much more. Today I close with a portion of a poem God gave me. Please take its truth and—run!
No box is prepared for you, but a table
No label is fixed on your person, but the name of the Lord your God
No position can define your worth
But the blood of Christ that cries,
“Righteous son, righteous daughter of the Most High God!”
Always, it is the blood that speaks
No other voice can trump the blood of Christ
Voices will attempt but all voices fail
There is none that can stand when the blood speaks
The blood of Christ has spoken
Its truth for all generations
Irreversible and matchless in its glory
There is only one thing left to do
But believe—the blood.
