Crazy Driving

“But this one thing I do–forgetting everything which is past and stretching forward to what lies in front of me, I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 3:13-14 (WNT)

My dear readers, I have an experiment for you today. This is going to be fun—crazy—but fun. You’ll feel like teenagers again when wildness was cool. You’ll relive your youth doing the opposite of your parents’ counsel. Oh, yes, you’ll feel young and oh so cool. Most of all, this won’t be boring!

The experiment:

·         Get into your car… oh yes, turn it on!

·         Drive down an isolated road

·         Only look into your rear view mirror as you drive

·         Warning– do not look out the front window

Your response

Now, Margie, I always turn to your readings for wisdom and encouragement… the love of God. Why have you suggested such a ridiculous experiment? Surely, I will crash if I drive this crazy way!

My answer

But isn’t this the way so many of us drive through life. I am guilty. Do the following look familiar?

·         “Let me tell you what happened to me in 1999.”

·         “I wish I could correct my mistakes.”

·          “When is the next shoe going to fall?”

·         “The past is a picture of my future.”

·         “That man ruined me for life.”

The Lord’s response

Daughter, what are you doing back there? I’m not there, I’m over here.

I was back there with you then—had plans for you…even then—but now I’m over here. Surrender your need to understand those old things, break from regrets of the past and their ownership. Come out of the grave yard and fasten to Me and My destiny for you. As long as you remain under this vise grip of Satan and lethal memories, of pain, sorrows, and disappointments, you will never enter into My joy or My rest—and never—My  destiny.

Beloved daughter of the King, You can never correct past mistakes.

But—when you ask Jesus to forgive He says, “Done—and forgotten.”

That man can never repay you for the damage done.

But—give the pain to Jesus and He will restore you double.

You can never change to the events of 1999.

But—if you surrender them to Jesus He will turn it for good.

Daughter, surrender, surrender, surrender all of the past—just like a child—only as a child. Then as a child rejoice, get happy. The Lord is  thrusting you into His destiny.DSC00546

You are so right, Margie. Why do we always look back?? I know I do. Thanks for the wonderful reminder, Margie. Our
God is the God of the Living… not the dead. Help us, Lord, to let go of the dead memories and to walk with You in the present moment!

      Dear Robbie,
I love that…”Why do you look for the living among the dead?” And the Lord has spoken that to me several times over the years. And we are commanded to forget the former things for He is doing a new work! Thank you for sharing, Robbie!
