It Must Not Suffer Loss

FaithToday I am saddened– a brother has fallen from grace. I am grieved for He once walked in the majesty and splendor of the triumphant Christ.

I am also puzzled. He knew God’s Word—understood sin. Yet he has not awakened to the harsh reality of his departure from the truth. He flaunts his sin with seeming ease and joy.  He greets as usual, those with whom he has always associated. He smiles, hugs, shakes hands while wearing clothing glittered with Christian symbols.

And in this brazen behavior he puts to shame the cross of Christ. (Hebrews 6:6) And for me—that is the greatest pain of all!

I wonder—is this a picture of the bride of Christ—spotless and untainted?  Is this man’s sin a representation of too many who call Jesus Christ Lord of all? Have we lost our zeal for The Almighty who instructs us to “Come out from among them and be separate?” (II Corinthians 6:17) Furthermore…”You shall be holy unto Me, for I the Lord am holy, and I have severed you from other people that you should be mine.” (Leviticus 20:26)

“Holy Spirit, have I done the same? Have I caused you pain by my careless ways, hastilygossip clip art spoken words or by a sloppy approach to the throne of Grace? Have I lost reverence by textling clip arttexting during worship or by gossiping and complaining about those who work so tirelessly to bring Christ to all the nations?”

devil clip artAnd does the enemy stand by laughing, “Ha Ha. So much for making the name of Jesus famous. And where’s the glorious church without spot or wrinkle? Why God’s people look just like mine! Ha ha ha ha ha”

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Psalm 139:23

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Deuteronomy 7:6

My tears run freely as I write these things. Such mocking of my Savior who ransomed me, brings deep distress.

Oh my beloved, we serve an untarnished King who has called us to walk before Him as aChristmas lights special treasure. Do you hear His plea today, His grief? We are His people set us apart above all people to be a display of His splendor. Stand up for Jesus, my beloved. Lift high His royal banner, His blood stained cross. It must not suffer loss!

Oh, Margie, this is beautifully done. It does hurt to see someone fall and then act normally. Many years ago, a man and a woman who went to our church had a very open affair. I think that’s what hurt the most — seemingly no remorse or even acknowledgment that something was terribly wrong with their behavior. It was a very hard time for our church. This post is a reminder to all of us to check our own behavior to make sure the enemy has not crept in somewhere. Love you, Margie!

      Dear Carol,
Thank you for sharing. Going to church is a happy time but when sin abounds the Spirit is grieved. Lives are lost because the the Holy Spirit has been compromised. The zeal to repent and receive Christ goes into remission because the authority of the Holy Spirit has been violated.
I am sorry for your experience. May the Lord use it for good. I love you,
